You Can Make the Most Out of Your Physio Sessions

Most experts agree that physiotherapy is not only effective in relieving pain from physical injuries, but is also great in improving your bodily function and in preventing the reoccurrence of injuries. Fortunately, these benefits can be achieved faster when you make the most out of your time with a physiotherapist.

Dress comfortably

Your physiotherapist will want to have an idea on how extensive your injury is. That’s why it’s often advisable to wear comfortable clothes, like a shirt and jogging pants. Avoid wearing jeans or long sleeves, as your physio might find it difficult to have a look at your injury.

Explain and ask questions

Give your physio a clearer picture of your injury by elaborating on particular things you’re unable to do, or particular actions you’re having difficulty doing. Afterwards, gain a deeper understanding of your injury by asking questions to your physio. Knowing more about the nature of your injury will then give you the motivation to take the first few steps on your treatment.

Follow your main goal

Ultimately, you and your physio are working on a single goal: that is, to recover from your injury as quickly as possible. Though achieving this goal will take time, taking a proactive role in following your treatment plan not only brings relief from pain, but also improves your function.
